Staffing Events Highlight Locum Tenens Trends

July 14, 2010

Locum Leaders CEO Will Drescher will address trends in locum tenens staffing as part of an expert panel at the 2010 Staffing Industry Analysts Healthcare Staffing Summit in Chicago, IL, Sept. 20-22.

The annual Summit brings leading recruiting industry executives and analysts together to focus on topics of interest to the healthcare staffing industry. Drescher will join a panel of experts discussing hospital use of outsourcing and what it means for locum tenens providers.

“Locum Leaders works with the nation’s leading management companies in hospital medicine, anesthesiology and other medical specialties. The vital role of these outsourcing solution providers in the evolving healthcare landscape is important for staffing firms and providers to understand,” said Drescher.

In-house, hospital-based recruiters are also key decision makers in the locum tenens industry. Locum Leaders will join these professionals later this summer at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) in San Antonio, TX, Aug. 15-18.

“As a Silver corporate sponsor of ASPR, we look forward to networking with our peers in the recruiting industry and learning more about their evolving needs,” said Drescher. Locum Leaders will exhibit in booth #307 at the conference.

Locum Leaders Awarded Federal Locum Tenens Contract

January 15, 2010

Locum Leaders will match hospitalists and other physician specialists to federal locum tenens jobs starting today.

The company has been awarded a multi-year Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Contract (GSA contract # V797P-7246A). The contract expands the company's scope of services, authorizing it to provide locum tenens staffing for federal healthcare facilities, including the Veterans' Administration (VA), Indian Health Service (IHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) facilities.

As a national leader in hospitalist locum tenens, Locum Leaders will actively recruit and place hospitalists seeking government assignments. Other medical specialties covered under the contract include internal medicine, anesthesiology and CRNA. Locum Leaders is a government-certified small business and can accept 100% small business set aside contracts.

"We're pleased to expand our recruiting services to include federal healthcare assignments," said Will Drescher, CEO, Locum Leaders. "The FSS contract is a testament to our quality and stability, and opens up significant new placement opportunities for our locum tenens providers."

Temporary assignments at a government facility are attractive to physicians for a variety of reasons. Federal facilities recognize any state medical license, offering greater choice for locum tenens providers. In addition, federal assignments are often long-term, providing stability for the physician and continuity of care for the facility.

Locum Leaders encourages physicians interested in government locum tenens opportunities to contact its offices at 877-562-8656 or info@locumleaders.com.
